I decided to redecorate some old chairs that my parents have had for a while. They looked old and grubby so I removed the seat, sanded the wood down until it was smooth and then applied undercoat and top coat (eggshell finish). I then reupholstered the seat using sponge, fabric and a staple gun! I'm quite happy with the results...

(I now have this chair in my bedroom and use it as a desk chair)

(These are used in the kitchen now!)
These once 'ugly' chairs are now proudly used and fit in with the rest of the decor!
I also decided to redecorate my grandmother's cabinet (that my dad inherited). It's over 80 years old so I made sure to take extra care of it! To remove all the varnish, I used wire wool and fine sandpaper (on a block). The original colour was lovely, so we decided to use natural beeswax to protect it. We also used wood reviver to bring out the colour of the wood. This piece of furniture was very dry so I applied about 3-4 coats but I think it could do with a few more!

Now this once dark piece of furniture stands out in the entrance hall.
One last thing... My uncle gave me this book after assessing my efforts! These projects are only the beginning of my revamping furniture journey!!
