Having some sort of scarf tied in your hair seems to be quite fashionable at the moment... but when shopping for an actual pattern you like, it's difficult finding something that expresses your personality and is unique to who you are. I had this problem so I decided to make my own!!
I already had some spare material that I liked so I cut a long strip (long enough to fit around the head with a bit to spare). I bought the red one from Topman and I think it was supposed to be used as a bow tie... but I used it for my hair instead! You can find wire at crafts shops but I bought ready made head ties (for around £1.50) and cut out the wire.
I sewed the material inside out using a simple stitch (you could do it on a machine to be quicker!) and left a hole on the other side. I then turned it back right way round... It was quite difficult so I advice using the blunt side of a knitting needle to help poke it through! Then all you do is put the wire inside, making sure it fits snuggly and do up the other end.
Can't wait to make some more!! These are perfect for presents too.
